VALKYRIE MIGRATION STATUS

Information for the Migration to Valkyrie Platform

Latest Information:

Last updated: 10/02/2021 17:00 EDT

The migration has completed. Based on testing, please review these additional notes for Monday and see FAQs.

NOTE:

1. ACT computer users will notice a login prompt when launching Outlook. Select Cancel, and after verifying that mail is correct in the Valkyrie mailbox, see page 2 of the ACT Migration FAQ, removing the ACT email account.

I have a Valkyrie computer, what do I need to do with my Outlook post migration?

Employees will need to remove the old ACT mail account from the Outlook client. To do so, follow the instructions here. Email is already configured under the Valkyrie Outlook client.

2a. Drive mappings (If you’re remote): Connect to the Valkyrie VPN, open a command prompt (click Start – type cmd – hit enter key) and type gpupdate /force and hit the enter key. This will take a few minutes to run – ignore zone mapping failures (CMD gpupdate step needs to be done only once).

When the previous step completes, double-click the ACT-Drives-Migrated.cmd file located on your desktop. Once that completes, open your File Explorer (folder icon on taskbar) and verify your mapped file share drives. These steps replace File Cloud or any previous method of getting to share drives remotely, including the previous drive mapping script file that was provided at computer delivery.

2b. Drive Mappings (if you’re at a physical Valkyrie/ACT office): For the first time that you come to the Valkyrie/ACT office, restart your Valkyrie computer once it’s connected to the Valkyrie network. Sign back in – open your File Explorer (folder icon on taskbar) and verify your mapped file share drives.

3. When emailing, do not allow Outlook to auto-complete email addresses, as this may be old, cached information which would cause issues getting the email delivered to the destination.
